Promoting a Safe and Tolerant Campus

Acts of hate and intolerance are harmful to the campus community, disruptive to educational mission of the university, and contrary to the UCSD Principles of Community.

You can help promote a safe and tolerant campus climate by reporting hate crimes and bias motivated incidents.Report all suspected hate incidents by calling (858) 534-6708 or You may also report hate incidents using the on-line Hate/Bias Incident Report Form.

What is the difference between a Hate Crime and a Bias Incident?

Hate crimes are criminal offences committed against persons, property or society that are motivated by bias based on race, religion, ethnic/national origin, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation.

Report suspected hate crimes to the UCSD Police Department or call (858) 534-HELP.

Bias incidents are acts of conduct, speech, or expression that are motivated by bias based on race, religion, ethnic/national origin, gender, age, disability or sexual orientation. Bias incidents victimize individuals and entire communities.
