13.00.  POLICY ON NONDISCRIMINATION

13.10.  Policy:
UCSD seeks to create and maintain a campus environment of mutual respect and tolerance which is free of discrimination and harassment. UCSD in accordance with applicable Federal and State law and University policy, does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, disability, age, medical condition (cancer-related), ancestry, marital status, citizenship, sexual orientation, or status as a Vietnam-era veteran or special disabled veteran. UCSD also prohibits sexual harassment. This nondiscrimination policy covers admission, access, and treatment in University programs and activities. 

All groups operating under The Regents including administrators, faculty, student government, University-owned residence halls, and programs sponsored by UCSD, are governed by this policy on nondiscrimination. The intent of the University's and UCSD's Policy on Nondiscrimination is to reflect fully the spirit of the law. In carrying out this policy, UCSD shall also be sensitive to the existence of past and continuing societal discrimination. (See Appendix D, Nondiscrimination Statement.
